Geezer
Track of the day
Tika Toc
Skibadee

You got to love MC lyrics. Check this one; "Enter With da Streetfighter, Ryu, Ken inside da arena, Haruken with the Fire, Hurricane kick you Require, Bison, Honda, Blanka enter Rudeboy Vega,
Supa SNES or SEGA gonna get down with my Selecta".
This one is courtesy of MC legend, Skibadee, a veteran of the hardcore, pirate radio and now drum and bass scenes and clearly a console geek. Like all MCs, Skibadee is a proper geezer from London who lays down incomprehensible and if you can spot them, frankly ridiculous lyrics. His skills are thinking on your feet, speed and balls of steel, rather than vocal genius.
In 2006 he ventured off piste to record a jumping UK hip hop record. For some reason hip hop never sounds right in a UK accent, but Tika Toc nails what a UK hip hop record should be; Street, shouty and drum and bass influenced. Its rudeboy, incomprehensible, heavy on sampling and underground, but most importantly – damn good fun.

Plastic People
Kraak & Smaak

Heat Wave
The Jam

Where we are sitting, the sun has got its hat on. Damn, it could even be a sombrero. It’s sodding hot, in other words, and we’re trapped in an office sweating like Peter O’Toole crossing the sodding desert in Lawrence of Arabia.

Nalin & Kane

Way back in the 1990s the superclubs were king. Ministry of Sound, Cream, Gatecrasher and Slinky had left the roots of dance music, flaunting themselves as global lifestyle brands. They sold glamour and acceptable hedonism to the masses.
